Privacy policy

When you use ScholarshipHunter we collect a small amount of data, in two categories:

• Operational logs. The website stores anonymized scrape-run results (which source was checked, when, what came back) so we can show source health publicly. The server may log your IP address for a short window to prevent abuse of the contact and report forms.
• Form submissions. If you use the contact form or the report-a-listing form, we store the fields you submitted plus the IP address and user-agent string at submission time, for up to 90 days. This is used to prevent spam and to let us respond to your message.

• No advertising trackers, no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Hotjar, no session replay tools.
• No third-party scripts run in your browser other than what Next.js ships by default.
• No account is required to use the site. We do not collect names, emails, or any profile data unless you explicitly submit a form.

The site sets a first-party cookie (sh_session) that stores your last-used search filter so the home page can restore it on your next visit. It is not used for tracking, is not shared, and expires after 30 days.

With your consent, we also use Google AdSense, a third-party ad network. AdSense sets its own cookies and uses web beacons to serve targeted ads. You will see a cookie-consent banner on your first visit; no AdSense cookies are set unless you accept. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser cookies for this site.

Google AdSense may use the cookie data to personalise ads. You can learn more about how Google handles data at Google's Privacy Policy.

• Scrape logs: rolled off after 30 days.
• Contact messages: kept up to 90 days, then deleted unless we are still working on your issue.
• Listing reports: kept indefinitely as a record of which listings have been flagged, but reporter email is deleted after the report is resolved.

You can ask us to delete any contact message or listing report you have submitted, and we will do so within 14 days. Email us with the address you used on the form. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; we will cooperate with any request they forward to us.

Application data is stored in Supabase (Postgres) hosted in the EU region. Backups are retained for 7 days. Form submissions are not transferred to any third party other than our email provider, which is used only to deliver the response to you.

ScholarshipHunter is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, if the change is material, post a note on the recent changes page.
