Research assistant in environmental epidemiology

Funded PhD positions typically include a stipend or salary covering living expenses, full tuition, and research costs. In Europe, many PhDs are advertised as specific job positions with defined projects and supervisors. In the US, students are admitted to departments and funded through teaching or research assistantships. Most programmes require a Master's degree (except in the US where direct entry from Bachelor's is common) and a strong research proposal outlining the intended area of study. Deadlines vary widely — some are rolling, others have fixed annual cycles.
