Postdoctoral Researcher in Embedded Hardware, FPGA, Edge AI and Smart Sensors 80%-100%, Zurich, fixed-term 30.09.2026 | Dept. of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (D-ITET)

Postdoctoral positions are temporary research roles for recent PhD graduates, typically lasting 1–3 years. They offer salary, benefits, and often a research budget. Postdocs are common in STEM fields and increasingly in social sciences and humanities. Many are tied to specific research grants, meaning the position exists only for the duration of the funded project. Competitive postdoc fellowships (e.g., Marie Curie, Humboldt, Newton) provide higher salaries and independent research freedom.
